Work Smart

If you are a junior or senior who is employed, you may be able to earn high school credit by being employed! Students enrolled in the Work-Based Learning program will earn high school credits based on their work experience. The hours they work determine the credits they can earn, while the submission of paychecks, weekly hour sheets, and evaluations will determine their grade.

If students do not receive a paycheck (cash payment) or they volunteer consistently in a career field (hospital/nursing home), they can participate, as well. They will not be in a traditional class, but will be learning while at work (teamwork, customer service, time management, technology, etc), and this program will be coordinated by Ms. Michelle Carter, a DCHS teacher. For questions or to sign up, please contact Ms. Carter at michelle.carter@dcsms.org.
